The Life Center at St. Mark’s
We are a nonprofit, 501c3-designated organization that was founded by St. Mark’s. Our mission is to provide a variety of programs that meet the needs of the community, families, youth, and older adults and to connect them to county and community-based resources. The Life Center is managed by a Board of Directors with at least 60 percent of the Directors being members of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Current Officers and Directors are: Peter Morrison (President), Dan Ancona, (Treasurer) Dave Appler, Kay Graff, Larry Long, Patti Bruch, and Trudy Stellar.
Thank you to all our volunteers and to all who donate
time and funds for Hypothermia!
More than 50 volunteers from 3 churches (St. Mark’s, St. John’s, and St. Bernadette’s) serve during this important week. As the host church, we served an average of 45 overnight guests with some additional dinner only guests. We provided Smartcards and Gas Cards, 3 meals a day, cards and games, clothing and toiletries, and usually have a Bingo night with McDonald gift cards as prizes. The volunteers are a great group of people and we had some uplifting conversations. We work with FACETS and other churches who provide shelter and meals for homeless peoples during the winter months.
Our guests are always appreciative for the good food and shelter. Mark you calendars to help in 2026. Whether it’s donating food, spending a couple of hours preparing food for breakfast or dinner or staying overnight most people will find this project very rewarding. Look for ways to volunteer in March. For more information, contact Nicole or Chris Colovos at ncolovos@gmail.com.

Multicultural Celebration and Health Fair
August 20206 (dates to be announced)
Each year we sponsor a space for various agencies to provide information about services they provide for families in the community. Several groups also include great entertainment and multicultural foods. More that 200 residents from surrounding communities attend the program for fun and to learn about available health and service resources. More than two dozen organizations, clubs, and vendors have displays. For more information contact Larry Eric Long at eriklong@earthlink.net.
Thank you for the donating coats for students
of Lynbrook Elementary School!
The Life Center will continue to support Lynbrook in other ways
throughout the year.
